So today has been rainy and snowy and cold, but I guess that goes perfectly with April Fool's day. Anyway we are getting excited to move to El Paso and have started packing things away that we don't need to use. Hopefully we'll be already to move out before the end of the month. School is almost over and Mike graduates on the 23rd of this month! Wow how time flies. Elle is now able to climb up and down from our couch all by herself and she does it at least ten times a day. She is also saying more words like ball, please and thank you, and outside. Of course she doesn't say them perfectly but for 14 months old I'd say she is doing pretty well. Well that's about all the new news for now, hopefully we will have more exciting news soon.

So lately we have been looking at houses for sale in El Paso and it has been a lot of fun. I think we are both excited as well as nervous to be moving this summer. We aren't even positive if that's where we will end up for medical school but it can't hurt to look right? There are lot of very nice looking 3 bedroom 2 bath houses for under 100,000 with a back yard, which would be perfect for us. Anyway it's been fun to dream about the possibilities for the future. Hopefully by May we will know for sure where we are going and can look seriously for housing.

It's About Time for an update

We thought it was about time we had an update on our blog. Things are going well for us and Elle is getting so big. We can't believe that she is already a year old and running around. She is such a joy to us. We are getting excited to see where we will end up for medical school and experience life together outside of Utah. We also had a really fun Valentine's weekend. We went with several couples in our ward out to eat on Sat and then we went to our Stake Dance where we had our pictures taken. It was like we were in high school again, but it was a lot of fun. We really have a lot of fun together. Life is good! Above is a picture of Elle and her princess crown birthday cake This is the corsage Mike gave me for the dance on Sat. He is so sweet!

We have really enjoyed watching Elle grow and get her personality. Although we aren't quite sure what these pictures say about her. One thing we know is that she is getting to be a good sleeper and that means good sleep for dad and especially mom. What we don't know if this sleeping posisiton means that she will be religious, a gymnist, or maybe a world class bench presser! At least she is cute as can be! She loves her playmat but I think her favorite toy is her dress! She can't seem to keep it down (hopefully that changes!) but thank goodness for onezies! This is the cutest video you'll ever see. Elle suddenly loves to talk and talk and talk. More of squeals and coos, but we love it. I think if she were like this all day long we could be entertained forever! And obviously she loves her play mat. She loves to play with the toys and see how many she can get into her mouth! Having a cute little girl is sure fun!

Winter or Spring?

So an interesting thing happened when we woke up this morning. We heard a loud crash outside and found this tree branch had landed on our car. It had also knocked down a power line of our neighbors so we couldn't remove anything until the power company came to clear it up. All because of the heavy snow storm we had. So since there was a lot of great packing snow and a bunch of branches we decided to make people! The moral of this story is instead of life giving us lemons to make lemonade, when life gives us a big branch from a snow storm make snowpeople!

This is bath-time Elle! She loves the warm water and is such a good girl. Despite the fuzzy picture she is DARLING! It was such a beautiful day today so we decided to have a picnic at the park and we took pictures and fed the ducks. It was a good St. Patrick's Day.

What an amazing experience! I don't know that I have ever felt such a rush of joy as when Elle was born. She is a beautiful, happy, healthy, baby girl! She has been very good in her short life and we are so glad to have her in our family. She was born February 8, 2009 at 11:11 pm. She weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 21 inches long! From the picture with the doctor holding her up (right after the delivery) it almost looks like she is a one month old! We love her so much! Marianne is doing well. She is tired, of course, and resting. She went all natural and delivered in just under an hour after we arrived at the hospital. She was a great sport and has said that the recovery is worse than the delivery?! She is doing well though and is the best mom in the world. So here are a few pictures of the darling baby (we don't have too many beside the crying ones at the hospital, but we'll have a baby dress up and fashion show when we get home and post those!)

Snow Fun!

We had a lot of fun playing in the snow a few weeks ago when it snowed a lot. Marianne and our snowman kind of look like twins, round :)

Slowly our snowman fell over and is now just a big pile of snow, but it was fun while it lasted.

We had a good time carving pumpkins and getting all dressed up for Halloween. Marianne thought I looked better in her wig than she did, so I was a hippie one day with a sucker in my mouth and then we evolved into pumpkin pie!! We had a lot of fun and a happy Halloween!

ITS A GIRL

I doubt that anybody will believe that we are actually having a girl, but hopefully these photos will be a little bit of proof! We are really excited for a cute little girl to come into our family! We couldn't be any happier for this new addition! The next step is that need to find a name, Mike really likes Elle, maybe in the form of Elleanna, or Elizabeth, but Marianne likes McKenna or Melody, really just long names. We are taking suggestions!!! We love you all, and by the way the two bets were boy, so Mendel and everybody else are wrong, 0% of the guesses were right!

We just wanted to provide evidence of our BYU fanship (?), maybe spirit is a better word. We have really enjoyed going to the games especially since the last two have not only been blowouts but shutouts as well. We are also enjoying the bragging rights, too bad almost everybody we have to brag to is a BYU fan anyway, but it is still fun. We are both busy with school. I have been enjoying my research with Dr. Silcox, and I even helped inseminate a cow and perform a rectal ultrasound. Pretty graphic eh? But I figure it is good practice in some way or another. I told Marianne that she ought to just come to the farm and I'll tell her the gender of our baby! If only . . . We are excited to find out on Tuesday the flavor of our baby. I hate the phrase, what we're having, because I'm pretty sure it's a baby!! So flavor is more appropriate. So we are taking bets and my bet is that fifty percent of the bets will be right! (That's my genetics class coming through for us (of course we would have to have a large enough sampling size to make the probablities workout, so . . !) Well we love you all and hope to hear from you all soon!

Hello Everyone

Well we have survived the first week of school and we are excited that it is almost the weekend. Our lives have been pretty crazy trying to balance our schedules and getting back into the swing of things. We are still trying to ride the bus as much as possible to try and lengthen out the life of our car. It has made things interesting in how we schedule our time, but I guess it helps us be very organized. Our classes are going well and I am very excited for my piano class. I think it will be nice to be able to learn the correct techniques and actually play the piano correctly. Mike is enjoying his classes and his research with President Silcox. Of course today is their first real day of research so he has been enjoying his Tuesdays and Thursdays of no school. Things are going well for us and we feel very blessed. We are also very excited for the BYU football game on Sat. Go Cougars!

Snowy Labor Day

Well we had a really good vacation to Bear Lake!!! It was oodles of fun, even when the storm hit us. We were really shocked that it would be 90 on Saturday and that we were wakeboarding and then that it would be freezing, literally on the drive home. These pictures were taken in Logan Canyon and yes that is snow on the first of September. We couldn't believe our eyes! The night before it rained hard and the wind blew hard, but it seemed to be clearing in the morning. The sun came out and I was even tempted to go wakeboarding. But then the clouds rolled in and before we could even get a chance to pack all of our things we were drenched!!! It was quite the adventure and definately one to remember. We did get to see Uncle Paul and Aunt Lisa and of course enjoy the boat on the lake for a day. Parry and Jill came Saturday and it was nice to see them as always. Micah is almost a full flegged walker, boy how time flies, it will be his first birthday soon! We also enjoyed being with Mom and Dad and Ali and her boys as we always do. We had an intense game of Taboo and the boys creamed the girls, (Marianne disagrees, but I was the scorekeeper!) and Paul and Dad showed us all up at Trivial Persuit, while we sat in a tent eating yummy lasagna from the dutch oven, thank you Marianne! (Fortunately the rain didn't prevent the coals from lighting or staying hot and we all appreciated a warm meal!). We also enjoyed Church in Lake Town even though it was quite crowded and the people next to us sang even more off key than me, what a miracle! But now we are getting ready to go back to school, sad!

New Job, New Digs!

I just thought I'd show you my sweet ride and new digs!! Don't I look like a regular contributing member of the medical society!!(?) But in all reality, I am loving my job. It is a little crazy sometimes, but for the most part I love it. I think it will be even better when school starts because then it will fit my schedule a bit better! For now, I am still learning the ropes, but I sure do enjoy interacting with patients and helping to save lives one breath at a time. . . You all can breathe easier just knowing I work for Petersen Medical!

We went to the Temple this morning and had a wonderful experience there. We didn't have anywhere to be afterward so we decided to take a walk around the temple and enjoy the beautiful day. We, of course, took some pictures too. The temple trip was with our ward which hasn't happened for a while. There were a few others, but hopefully next month there will be even more. We love going to the temple and both commented afterward about the peaceful feeling that we felt. We loved it so much we almost decided to stay until Sunday!

We got to go swimming with and play with two of our favorite nephews Jackson and Gavin. They were really fun to play with and Jackson really enjoyed taking pictures and then seeing it in the screen so we had fun and took lots of pictures, here's two. . . Gavin enjoyed playing catch with Marianne, in the shade of course while Jackson and Mike just chilled!

Here is the latest on the development of Marianne and the baby inside of her! She still isn't showing much at all but she sure thinks she is getting a baby belly. We are anticipating our next doctors appointment in two weeks and wowed that we are fifteen weeks along! She looks pretty good eh?
