Write Up Containing Books The Unwanted
I was a bit disappointed in this book as it started out with so much promise but lacked half way through and all the characters got on my nerves

I hate to say this but I really didn't enjoy this novel. I liked Cassie and the concept but I wasn't overly attached and got a bit bored. Not my fav of his but I will still read his other novels

I loved everything about the story and the characters - what I didn't love was the ending. The ending seemed out of place, the twist was unnecessary and didn't fit with the story.

John Saul really knows how to write a novel that fucks with your mind. :O/insomnia

According to the 4 books I've read from John Saul so far, fathers are either useless and oblivious pushovers or violent and abusive bastards. Lucky for us there are two of them in this book!...Yippy...Seriously though, I think I've alreay figured out what's been bothering me about his books: all of the children are like emotionless robots programmed to follow a path they can't divert from, adults in their lives are like the townsfolks from the Simpsons that can immediately turn into a lynch mob

John Saul books are something I typically turn to in the summertime. Something to binge on that is higher up on the literary food chain than (shudder) trashy romance novels. I remember enjoying this book years ago and have to say, it's still a fairly good story considering it was written in 1987. The power went out and I was grateful that I had charged my eReader just an hour earlier. So, like a typical bookworm, I took advantage of the fact I had no distractions and plowed through this one.
