Girl Made of Stars
tw: sexual assaultThis was so powerful, I wish it was a little longer though.
This book is truly fantastic! Its such an important, relevant and heart-breaking read, and the author wrote it in both a beautiful and shockingly real way. It's seriously one of the best books Ive ever read! I'm going to try my hardest to do it justice in this review, but honestly I don't know if that's even possible because there aren't enough words that exist to describe my feelings towards it.The book follows Mara; one half of Mara and Owen, inseparable twins that have always been close. So

flawlessly heart wrenching
This story was amazing. It was heartbreaking and hard to read and so damn amazing. I love love loved Mara. I love her strength, especially when she thinks she doesnt have any. I love her loyalty and her stubbornness and her empathy and her everything. Shes a fantastic MC. Plot wise it was more than just a story about rape. It was a story about surviving, enduring, and sometimes just dealing. It is a hard look at consent and victim blaming and it is so so so important. This review doesnt even
i had a difficult time rating this. if there was ever an argument for half star ratings, it would be this book. i found my mind saying 4 stars while my heart was saying 3. and heres why. on the positive side of things, the writing was beyond beautiful. and i really liked the title, even more so once i read how it plays into the story. i am sucker for books where the main characters are boy-girl twins. i really wish i had a boy twin, myself. and so learning about how mara was a girl made of stars

"I need Owen to explain this. Because yes, I do know that Owen would never do that, but I also know Hannah would never lie about something like that." Mara and Owen are about as close as twins can get. So when Mara's friend Hannah accuses Owen of rape, Mara doesn't know what to think. Can the brother she loves really be guilty of such a violent crime? Torn between the family she loves and her own sense of right and wrong, Mara is feeling lost, and it doesn't help that things have been strained with her ex-girlfriend and best friend since childhood, Charlie. As Mara, Hannah, and Charlie navigate this new terrain, Mara must face a trauma from her own past and decide where Charlie fits in her future. With sensitivity and openness, this timely novel confronts the difficult questions surrounding consent, victim blaming, and sexual assault.List Out Of Books Girl Made of Stars

this was so beautifully written and the cover is so beautiful and the message should be heard by everyone. though i kinda didn't like how Mara kept comparing her similar situation to Hannah's current one, when hers happened three years ago and she never told anyone. she kept talking about her own issues and it got a little annoying. i felt like she should've been a better friend to Hannah and more understanding to Owen. i felt like she was really wrapped up with her problems with Charlie (whytw: sexual assaultThis was so powerful, I wish it was a little longer though.
