It’s not easy for a young gay artist like Jordan Carson to grow up in Jefferson, Wisconsin, where all anyone seems to care about in middle school and high school are the sports teams. 4.5 holy Batman starsWarning! Quotes Ahead!Do not read this in public, people might think you have gone cuckoo, because of all the Lol moments. Loved this book! Such a precious little gem. The story of best friends Jordan the adorkable, aspiring comic book writer and Owen the gentle wrestler is not to be missed. I've just finished listening to the audio book of this, one of my fave EVER stories narrated by Tristan Wright. Was it good?? It was pretty awesome, and just how I imagined Owen and Jordy might sound. I had a few niggles though....the further you got into the audio, the faster Tristan's narration seemed to get, which meant that the gap between Jordy's spoken part and Owen's was sometimes very tiny indeed. 4.5 HOLY SHIT, BATMAN STARSThis is joining Amy Lane's Christmas Kitsch as one of my favorite YA m/m reads (and I typically avoid YA/NA like the plague). This book is crazy sweet and hopeful and sparkly. Owen truly is a superhero and Jordan, with his crazy-themed underwear and mad drawing skills, THE best friend everyone wants in high school.
