More secrets were revealed both about the twin and about the people in the coven. For 200 years or so, the coven had been getting ready for another treize. A lot of planning needed to be done and now that there is a twin there are exactly enough people, 13. Richard, a guy from the coven gets more involved with the twin than before. There's something between him and Clio, but neither of them would admit to that fact. Clio is still not over Luc yet and she sees nothing in Richard. From theNice book. It is way more obvious that Cate made this up though. The thing I loved about the Sweep series was that it all seemed very real, like it could actually happen. This is mostly because Wicca really is a religion. But in this series she describes a religion related to Wicca, which just seems less believable. But it is still a nice books, and I like the main characters in this book better.
A great third part in this series. I still love reading Thais more than Clio, but she's growing on me. A great story full of mystery and intrigue, that had me hanging on every word. We learn more in this book about the past, and how it will effect the future. More of the lesser characters have been explained too, which was good for the storyline. A tale of fantasy and witchcraft, and one I highly recommend. Can't wait to read the fourth, and see how this story ends! I can imagine it won't be a
I think these series are better written than the Sweep series. They are less predictable and the characters have more substance.

Clio looks forward to the big magyck rite, while Thais is very unsure of it all. Daedelus has pulled together the other 10 who were turned immortal in a similar rite 250 years before, along with the twins. He wants more power, but what do the others want? Who is still trying to kill the twins? What happened to the original witch who did the rite 250 years

In the third book of the Balefire series, Thais and Clio continue to grow closer and to grow their magic. And the attempts on thier lives continue. The rest of group needed to reproduce the spell that made the Trieze members immortal in the first place. As the time for the spell grows closer, tempers and fear runs high. This series is lots of fun. It only took me so long to read the book because it was my lunch book and I did not get to it every day. While I like the sweep series better, this
