Chronicle To Books Rhapsodic (The Bargainer #1)
Callypso Lillis is a siren with a very big problem, one that stretches up her arm and far into her past. For the last seven years she’s been collecting a bracelet of black beads up her wrist, magical IOUs for favors she’s received. Only death or repayment will fulfill the obligations. Only then will the beads disappear.Everyone knows that if you need a favor, you go to the Bargainer to make it happen. He’s a man who can get you anything you want … at a price. And everyone knows that sooner or later he always collects.
But for one of his clients, he’s never asked for repayment. Not until now. When Callie finds the fae king of the night in her room, a grin on his lips and a twinkle in his eye, she knows things are about to change. At first it’s just a chaste kiss—a single bead’s worth—and a promise for more.
For the Bargainer, it’s more than just a matter of rekindling an old romance. Something is happening in the Otherworld. Fae warriors are going missing one by one. Only the women are returned, each in a glass casket, a child clutched to their breast. And then there are the whispers among the slaves, whispers of an evil that’s been awoken.
If the Bargainer has any hope to save his people, he’ll need the help of the siren he spurned long ago. Only, his foe has a taste for exotic creatures, and Callie just happens to be one.

I think I heard the Siren's song...It's only my second story by Laura Thalassa, but I think I'm in love. With her words...not her...that sounds weird but BOOK NERDS UNITE...it's author love, not stalker love. OK, that's probably a bit of a dodgy start to a review. It's Saturday night, hubby bought me a bottle of champers to celebrate Harry and Meggsies wedding, so I'm FLYING!!The wedding stuff hasn't started yet and I'm one glass down, and I finished this AWESOME story. Seriously, Laura Thalassa5 brilliant starsMoved my original review to another edition cause something weird is happening to it. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Click HEREto read it.
Happy reading! <3

Not really my thing. Going to leave off a rating.I'm really just not a fan of urban fantasy, but much less so for this one. The world building was totally brushed over. The concept was there, but I didn't feel grounded in the world. I needed more. And the writing style? Aghghg yack. Not for me. Before I forget - Trigger warning for sexual abuse (it isn't described in detail, but it happened to the heroine.)Now for the big question - was this like ACOMAF? Scarily, yes, but not in a good way. Very
My breath catches in my throat as my gaze meets his. The way he looks at me, the way his thumb is rubbing circles into the soft skin of my hand... I know why he's here. On some level, I knew it since I first caught sight of him on my bed. This is it, the moment I've been waiting seven years for. I exhale. "You're finally here to collect."It's ironic that I found this a breath of fresh air when it's basically ACOTAR fan fiction, but for some reason this really worked for me. It was an easy,
Wow, this was incredible.
Rhapsodic was an addictive, mesmorising read for me. I love a good fae story and it did not disappoint. Callie calls the Bargainer when she needs him to clean up after a murder, which leaves her owing him a debt. From then on, a friendship of sorts develop, with Callie traumatised and alone, seeking out the Bargainer's company to fill the lonely void in her life.I was intrigued by the Bargainer and just as keen to know his secrets as Callie was. It is written with a dual timeline and I found it
